Lieth-Whittaker model

The Lieth-Whittaker model, the simplest of those we are comparing, was originally developed by Helmut Lieth (Lieth 1956) and apparently revised by Robert Whittaker in 1975 (why else would Whittaker's name be attached to it?; Whittaker 1975).  It is based on correlations of vegetation distribution with mean annual temperature and mean annual precipitation.  ClimVegWin classifies vegetation automatically using the two quantities.
