Yee Kim Wo returned to San Francisco from China via the S.S. China. The Chinese passenger list contains an entry for a Yee Ging Wah, male, age 45. His certificate was No. 121, and apparently there was an affidavit identifying him as a merchant. His last residence in the United States was given as Oakland, California.3,12,2 The list of Chinese passengers on the S.S. China seems to indicate that Yee Ging Wah was ordered landed at San Francisco on 11 June 1895. Some other bits are illegible.2

Yee Jock Leong2 (13) (Kim1)1,3,6,10,7,1,12,7 was born on 15 Jan 1884 at 741 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, San Francisco, California, USA.21,1,22,6,15,12,7,23 Yee Jock Leong's birth certificate, which was issued by the Office of the County Recorder, Hall of Records, City and County of San Francisco, says he was born on 15 January 1884. However, other testimony in the Chinese Exclusion Act files indicates that he was born K.S. 10th year, 1st month, 15th day. K.S. 10, or the 10th year of Emperor Kwang Sui, is in 1884, but according to the Chinese calendar, the 15th day of the first month would translate to February 11 on the Julian Calendar.24,3 He married Dong Shee (3241) on 24 Dec 1905 at Jew Kee Village, Sun Ning District, Quangdong, China.4,19 He married Myrtle Mae Robinson (14), daughter of William A. Robinson (3381) and Hannah M. Scott (30), on 17 Dec 1915.25 He died on 4 Dec 1936 at Dayton, Mongtomery, Ohio, USA, at age 52.26,22      Yee Jock Leong (13) was buried on 7 Dec 1936 at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio, USA.22

      He was also known as Yee Deng Lei (13) The name, in English and Mandarin, is listed on business or calling cards found among my great-grandfather's effects.27

Gaelic circa October 1886.3,12,28 In October 1899, Ow Young You visited Yee Jock Leong and his family at their home in Lee Yin Village, Sun Ning District, China.7,12 Yee Jock Leong returned to the United States via the Port of San Francisco in 1903. His ship, the S.S. American Maru, arrived at the Port of San Francisco on 17 August 1903. Yee Jock Leong arrived with a certificate of identification. His ticket number was 35. The notes indicate that he is the son of a merchant and a native of San Francisco. Yee Jock Leong said he came to the United States "to study English and to learn to transact business.".12,3,11,29,4,28 Between 17 August 1903 and 22 August 1903, Yee Jock Leong was detained on board the S.S. American Maru at the Port of San Fransisco while awaiting permission to enter the United States.15,29

Yee Jock Leong was ordered landed at the Port of San Francisco on 22 August 1903 from the S.S. American Maru. Chinese Bureau inspectors Charles Mehan and W.E. Thompson and Commissioner of Immigration H.H. [?]orth signed the certificates approving entry.30,11,31
On 24 August 1903, Immigration officials in San Francisco sought permission to make a copy of the O. Young You affidavit on behalf of Yee Jock Leong.32
On 25 August 1903, Yee Jock Leong delivered the copy of the ticket giving him permission to land to the Chinese Bureau offices in San Francisco.31

The note indicated that he is a native [of the United States] and that his had ticket No. 152.33,28 On 30 April 1908, Yee Him Wah, a resident of San Francisco, was served with a subpoena in the investigation of Yee Jock Leong's citizenship status.34,35
Yee Jock Leong was ordered landed at the Port of San Francisco on 1 May 1908 from the S.S. Korea. His ticket number was 152. The notes indicate that is a native. Inspectors Jno. Endicott Anderson, [J.?] M. Crawford and [M.T.?] Boyce all signed the certificate approving entry.33,36
The records of the 1903 investigation regarding Yee Jock Leong's right to enter the United States were forwarded to the inspectors on his 1908 arrival.37

Spaun, of the Office of Inspector in Charge with the Department of Commerce and Labor, Immigration Service, reported favorably upon Yee Jock Leong's request for a pre-investigation of his citizenship status on 14 April 1914. Spaun agreed with Yee Jock Leong's assertion that he was an American citizen.40
On 14 April 1914, Yee Jock Leong applied for a pre-investigation of his citizenship status in preparation for a trip to China. The application was filed with the Office of Inspector in Charge, Department of Commcerce and Labor, Immigration Service, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.39,4

Yee Jock Leong returned to San Francisco from China via the steamer S.S. Siberia. The Siberia arrived at the Port of San Francisco on 29 June 1915.19 In an identification card application dated 29 June 1915, Yee Jock Leong was described to be 5 feet, 2-1/2 inches tall, with a large flesh mole in front of his right ear.28 Yee Jock Leong filed his application for an identification card on 1 July 1915 from the S.S. Siberia at the Port of San Francisco.28
