IN ANSWERING REFER TO
No. 470-C

October 20, 1914.

Commissioner of Immigration,
Philadelphia Immigration Station,
Goucester City, N. J.

I inclose herewith duplicate copies of a letter received today from Yee Jack Leong, Diehai, Sun Ning, Canton, China, who, on April 14, 1914, filed in this office formal application for a return certificate in order that he might visit China and be permitted to return again to the United States.
As will be noted by transcript of testimony taken at the time of the examination, copy of which is inclosed herewith for your information and file, this Chinaman is a native-born citizen of the United States. He stated at thattime [sic] that he intended bringing his minor son to this country when he returned from China, and from the inclosed letter it would appear that he also intends bringing his wife. Inasmuch as he claims to have been in San Francisco, however, and the entire record in the case is on file at that port, no action on the part of this office would appear to be necessary.
