     Her second marriage was to William Lawrence, probably a brother of her first husband, David. They had three daughters before his death in 1720, and a posthumous son, Uriah. Presumably she had a son by David Lawrence, as Jonathan is named in her will and not in that of William Lawrence.      Her will was dated Nov 1757. In it she describes herrself as of Cambridge and makes her brother, Samuel Whittemore, her executor. In it she names her son, Uriah. The will is signed by a mark. The appraisal was made 25 Nov 1766 and showed personal property to the amount of £25.9s6d. and real estate 'one dwelling house with about one quarter of an accer of land adjoyning ytro £80.' The location of the real estate does not appear. (Records of Middlesex County, MA.)
     She is described as "widow Sarah Lawrence of Norton." Her son Jonathan lived at Norton, MA, and had a family there. (Wyman's Genealogies and estates of Charlestown; New England Genealogical Register.)
     Her death at 84 years of age, on 22 Nov 1766, was recorded by Samuel Cookes of West Cambridge, MA. She is described as "Widow Lawrence of Cambridge." (Vital statistics of Arlington, MA, p. 142.).¹

I earlier took this to mean that David Lawrence died about 1758. However, since William Lawrence was defending his property from the heirs of David in 1717, David must have died earlier.--D.M.L.^2,1

He made a will at Providence, RI, on 23 May 1720 and died on 24 May 1720.
