A William Cox and a John Cox were claimed as headrights by Nathaniell Floyd in a patent for land in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. I do not know if this is the same or a different William Coxe, nor do I know whether or not the John Cox referred to is William Coxe's son.

William Coxe arrived in James City, Virginia, on the Godspeed. Coxe traveled with the party of Thomas West, Third Lord De La Warr. Coxe may have been a relative of Elizabeth Coxe, daughter of Sir Henry Coxe of Broxburn, Hertfordshire. Elizabeth Coxe married Robert West, Lord De La Warr's brother.1,2,3
In February 1624/5, William Coxe was listed in Thomas Bouldinge's company from "Elzabeth Cittie" in the muster of Virginia.
