Version 1.0 was the most ancient version of the ClimExWin program. It was originally developed circa 1995 by David M. Lawrence while he was a research assistant at the Tree-Ring Laboratory of Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. The program, compiled for both Macintosh and PC platforms, was originally designed for GHCN1 files (GHCN2 did not exist at the time). Version 2 was developed shortly after GHCN2 became available (circa 1998).
